Nourishing Your Skin

We all want clear, glowing, youthful skin. In the age of social media, many of us are influenced to try harsh treatments, plastic surgery, and Botox to achieve it. Many of us spend thousands and try numerous products to get it, with little or no luck. We try creams, serums, and chemicals that actually cause more damage than good. Many of the products on the market today, have pore clogging ingredients, drying alcohols, and harsh chemicals or acids that improve the look of our skin briefly but end up having poor long-term effects, one being ruining the skins natural moisture barrier. Many people are willing to try anything for healthy skin, except following a consistent, healthy lifestyle. For us to be able to achieve radiant, young skin we must strive to achieve healthy skin. First let's take a look at what things our skin needs in order to keep a youthful look.


Vitamins and minerals are the foundation for healthy skin. Each vitamin serves its purpose and assists in keeping the skin looking fresh. Here I'll go into each of the vitamins and their benefits.

  1. Vitamin A: Reduces wrinkles, improves skin tone, protects against sun damage, and reduces acne.

  2. The B vitamins: There are 12 b vitamins. The main benefits of the B vitamins include increased cell turnover, improves skin elasticity, prevents water loss to increase hydration, reduces redness.

  3. Vitamin C: It has antioxidant properties that help protect the skin, brightens skin, and boosts collagen production.

  4. Vitamin D: Increases skin healing by regulating skin cell growth and repair, reduces inflammation, helps maintain a healthy skin barrier, and protects skin cell damage because of antioxidant properties.

  5. Vitamin E: In my opinion, is the most important of the vitamins as it has many benefits. Some include, maintains hydrations and moisture, promotes healing and regeneration, antioxidant properties protect skin cells, reduces inflammation, reduces the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone, enhances skin elasticity, prevents aging and reduces aging effects, and prevents acne.

  6. Vitamin K: Reduces dark spot, minimizes acne scars, and boosts elasticity.


    As our skin is our biggest organ, it is highly effective to absorb vitamins through our skin care products. Plant derived, natural skin care products, like our line of products, naturally add the necessary vitamins your skin needs. The other way to indulge our skin with the necessary vitamins, we can add them to our diet.


    I always say if you take care of your body, it will take care of you, this definitely applies to our skin. Our internal health is reflected on our skin. To have healthy skin, it's important to work from the inside out. By eating a balanced diet of vegetables, fruits, legumes, proteins and dairy you will boost the intake of vitamins and minerals in your body allowing your skin to improve and flourish.

     Examples of vitamin rich foods are fish, legumes, spinach, sweet potatoes, tofu, milk, tomatoes, eggs, broccoli, strawberries, cranberries,

    carrots, leafy greens, and avocados. By all means this is not an all-encompassing list, but it offers great examples as to what can be added to the diet. Not only does eating vitamin rich foods improve the skin, but it can also improve moods and increase energy and promotes overall health and wellness in the body and its function.


    By adding healthy vitamin-rich foods to our diet and pairing it with vitamin rich skin care products, you are almost guaranteed to unveil glowing, beautiful skin. It truly is the simple way to get effective results. It may not be a quick fix, but staying consistent with a good skin care routine and diet you can assure you will have lifelong healthy youthful skin.
